Terms of Service
Last updated: October 29, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Meerlet for using the Meerlet app and website. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.
The agreement
Meerlet is run by Meerlet’s two founders, based in Texas, United States (“Meerlet”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, linking a phone, or using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Meerlet.
You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of any child you add, or have their parent’s permission to set Meerlet up for them. Children use Meerlet only on a phone their parent has linked, under that parent’s account.
The service
Meerlet lets a parent limit chosen apps on a child’s phone and have the child answer a couple of questions to earn time on them. Questions come from Meerlet’s built-in set or from pages the parent uploads.
Meerlet is free for now. We may offer paid features in the future. If we do, we’ll tell you first, and you’ll never be charged unless you choose to subscribe. Meerlet is in beta, so features may change, pause, or stop while we improve it.
App limits help, but aren’t a guarantee
Meerlet works within what Android and iPhone allow. Phone settings, updates, permissions being turned off, other apps, or a determined child can get around app limits, and some apps may not be limited as expected. Meerlet supports a parent’s supervision; it doesn’t replace it, and it isn’t a safety or monitoring tool.
Your account and family
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and your phone secure, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- You’re responsible for what happens in your account, including on the children’s phones you link and the settings you choose for them.
Your pages and the questions
- Only upload material you have the right to use, such as your child’s homework, worksheets, or pages from a book for their own study, and please leave out names, addresses, or photos of people.
- You keep ownership of what you upload. You let us store and process it, including by sending it to our question-writing provider, only to write questions for your family. Pages are deleted once the questions are written.
- Questions written by AI can contain mistakes. You review every question before turning a quiz on for a child, and you can remove any question.
Fair use
Please don’t:
- upload unlawful, harmful, or hateful material, or other people’s personal information;
- scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or try to break into Meerlet, or use bots or scripts to access it;
- get around the daily quiz limits or other limits we set to keep Meerlet running for everyone;
- use Meerlet to monitor anyone in secret, or for anything other than your own family.
Meerlet’s materials
Meerlet’s name, the Meerlet character, the app, the website, and the built-in questions belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your family while you follow these terms. Please don’t copy, sell, or reuse them as your own.
App stores
If you got Meerlet from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply. These terms are between you and Meerlet, not Apple or Google. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance, support, or any claims about it; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies by law, you may tell Apple, which may refund the purchase price, if any.
Ending
You can stop using Meerlet and delete your account at any time, in the app or on our account deletion page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we’ll tell you first where we reasonably can. If we ever shut Meerlet down, we’ll give you notice.
Disclaimers and liability
Meerlet is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about learning results, that it will always be available or error-free, or that app limits will always work.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about Meerlet is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can’t be limited.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email [email protected] first and give us 30 days to try to put it right. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn’t resolved goes to the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may still bring a claim in small-claims court.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as Meerlet changes. For important changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, and if you keep using Meerlet after that, the new terms apply. The date at the top shows the current version.
